One of my favorite movies for sparking my imagination are Hook and Forgetting Neverland. Both renditions of the Peter Pan story. And for some reason, Peter Pan just gets my mind thinking about all the cool things I would love to have in my bedroom.
Why the bedroom?
Well that is where the beginning parts of the story take place. But also because of where the Lost Boys sleep, in a giant tree.
Have you ever thought about incredibly imaginative bedrooms?
Here are some examples from a great site I like to follow a lot called Freshome.com. Check this post out… and the site. It’s a great blog.
The bedroom that is featured is a kids room with a pirate ship above the bathroom doors. It’s designed by Steve Kuhl, somebody I have to learn more about.
Here are my favorite things about it and what I wish they did differently:
1. The Ship Is Incredible

The ship is insane. As a parent, I am sure there are many safety concerns, however, I wouldn’t care. It’s too amazing not to play in.
I would just make sure to have the run… no jumping from the ship to the bed. And no making your sister walk the plank off the ship to the floor.
I wish they put the beds in the ship. However, that would have been a problem if you have to get up at night and use the bathroom. Or if there was an emergency.
2. The Walkway Is My Dream

For some reason, I love rope style bridges. I think it has to do with the fact they are very tree house like.
This rope bridge is so cool. I would relax on the bridge and just read or take naps there.
I’ve always wanted to build a house that had two or three sections. For example, the bedroom complex of the house would be separate from the living room and play room complex, which would also be separate from the kitchen and dinning room complex.
Each part of the house would be connected with temperature controlled walkways, but the second floors would have rope bridges connecting each one to it’s own deck. For some reason, I just thought that would be the coolest thing.
I should draw this out someday and get your opinion. It gets me really excited!
3. The Slide – I’m Jealous!

This slide is not only for kids, it’s so for adults too. How much fun would it be to slide down a twirling tube each morning?
Of course you can’t really do that when you’re wearing your work clothing.
But I bet you’d still love it.
What Would You Create?
Doesn’t this get you thinking about what you would make if you could?
How much fun would it be to let your imagination run wild a little bit and create a completely unique living space.
I’ve seen some awesome bedrooms where the bed is elevated into a little nook. That would be the ultimate love nest for a master bedroom. Here’s a picture of what I’m talking about:

Imagine a nice mattress and silk sheets and duvet covers everywhere. It would be incredible. If you’re like me, you’d have a really tough time getting out of a bedroom like that.
Let me know what you would want to make or share a link to some pictures of rooms that inspire you.
I hope you enjoyed this post.
I want to make TrueMores.com blog more like this, about fun, luxury living, not only about silk bedding. I hope you agree!
