When you get your package, you also get a small square piece of silk and this has a purpose of letting you know that the silk is real and not blended. Many companies will blend their silk with other fabrics like polyester to bring the costs down. However that also ruins the silk.

When you burn silk, you are looking for a couple things. First, you want to see how it burns. The edges where the burn takes place should not fray but stay very straight. Next, you want to look at the ash that is produced. It should be very soft, fluffy, and light. Tough it and you will see what I’m talking about. But don’t burn yourself!
