Here is an article I wrote because at the time of this writing, I will be getting married in about eight months. I thought how great it would be to get silk sheets as a gift. However they are not the practical because of the expense... satin sheets on the other hand are very practical and make a great gift. Once you try them, you will be very excited you got them.
Most wedding gifts are initially chosen by the bride and groom when they register all their gifts. And most of the time all of these gifts are very typical. Well if you go just a little bit against the grain, you can get a gift that will blow the newly wedded couple away... satin sheets.
Good quality satin sheets are hard to come by, because they are surrounded by cheap satin sheets, but they will make the perfect wedding gift. They are incredibly elegant, romantic, and sophisticated. If you get a set in white, or a nice pastel color they work will with most bedrooms too.
Satin sheets are very comfortable to sleep in, however they can be slippery and this causes the sheets to slide around easily. Many manufacturers can make one side of the satin sheets intentionally duller to help with this problem, while not sacrificing the luxurious feel of the sheets.
The are especially great gifts of newly wedded couples because its been shown that satin sheets increase endorphin levels in the brain and increase intimacy between couples. Needless to say, newly weds will definitely enjoy the sheets.
Make sure you ask the dealer you're getting yours from about the quality of the sheets. Satin sheets are like the highest of quality silk sheets... you get what you pay for. Cheap satin sheets will fall apart easily after the first wash and they also have the tendency to easily bleed their color to your clothes and your mattress.
They make a great gift and you will probably get the newly wedded couple hooking on luxury bedding, because it really does make a difference in how you sleep.
